Spiritual Empowerment: He’s got you covered

He’s got you covered

Is it just me or do we tend to run away from
Father, God when we’ve made mistakes or receive
the lie from the adversary that we are not good
enough? I remember wanting so much to please
God that I would turn away from Him in an effort
to show my sincerity in living a genuine Christian life.
My answer was, I’m not living as I should so I’ll
just go away for now Lord, because I know you’re
not pleased.

This was a pure trick of the adversary
the devil. The time you really need to draw closer
to Father, God is when you feel inferior, inadequate,
intimidated, lonely, discouraged, less than Christian-like, weak,
defeated etc. Why? He wants to remind you of His unconditional
love. He wants to share with and prove to you that His covenant
of grace is genuine. He’s got you covered!

Just as we have health and car insurance, home owner’s and
renter’s insurance. Father, God has you covered under
His insurance called grace. Grace is unmerited favor.
You’ve been justified by faith (just-as-if-I’d never sinned).

You don’t get insurance for your vehicle so you can go out
and drive wreck less. There are consequences to your actions,
although you have insurance. Your premiums may go up, you
or the other individuals may suffer injuries. So it is with our
insurance called “grace”, it wasn’t provided so we could go
out and become habitual sinners, because even though we’ve
been justified there are consequences.

If you do fall short, if you do react less than Christian-like
at times. For those times when you may yield to temptation,
respond with anger, make a mistake etc. Isn’t it good to know
that He’s got you covered.

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed
into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot
be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in
all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:14-16
