4 Reasons you should use Social Media as a Christian in ministry

You can never again use the excuse of travel or money for reasons why you can’t reach out to the world. It is now possible to reach to the ends of the world. I have connected with women from the UK, Africa, Italy as well as the states. All of this via Social Media. So then why aren’t more ministries and Christian Leaders using this phenomenal tool? It could be a lack of awareness as to the benefit of using Social Media as a Christian in Ministry. Or maybe they don’t have time to invest in the skills to effectively use Social Media.

I’m going to share 4 reasons you should use Social Media as a Christian in Ministry.

1. Exposure to the masses. There’s never been a better time to get your message out to the masses than now. You can access thousands and even millions via Social Media sites. Facebook alone has over 500 million users. Twitter and Linkedin stand on their own as far as their reach.

You no longer have to invest in huge marketing campaigns or Television to get in front of your audience.

2. It’s a great resource for leveraging your time. Once you are familiar with how to effectively use Social Media it will allow you to leverage your time. There are apps that assist in using Social Media sites such as Twitter, Facebook and Linkedin effectively without exhausting your time.

Imagine having to designate devoted time to advertising and promotions. There are only so many hours in a day and you can only reach so many physically. Social Media allows you to have a global reach without using hours of manpower. You can reach clear across the world and effectively reach your market with a clear vision and strategy in place.

3. It helps you fulfill the great commission to go into the highways and biways to compel them to come in. Communication with the world is enhanced with the use of Social Media.. Compel means : to drive or urge forcefully or irresistibly 2: to cause to do or occur by overwhelming pressure

I like the latter part of number 1; irresistibly…. With the right strategy and effective goals you can compel men and women to come in. You have an ability to position yourself to drive them irresistibly to come in.
This will take being knowledgeable about Social Media, the site you choose to focus on and providing information with added value.

You will also gain more influence by knowing as much as you can about your audience’s needs.

4. Networking and connecting with like-minded individuals.
I’ve met so many great people of God via Social Media. There’s nothing like associating with like-minded individuals. Your networking endeavors are enhanced with effective use of Social Media. Remembering that networking is about connecting and supporting others in their endeavors while enhancing both of your business/ministry missions, using Social Media is an obvious direction to be taken by you as a christian in ministry.

There are many more reasons to use Social Media as a Christian in ministry. I have shared a few with you in this post.
